How York’s 7m visitors have created the foundation to build a modern diverse economy.

We were delighted to welcome Gillian Cruddas from Visit York at this event.

Gillian has spent over 25 years in the tourism industry and is now Chief Executive of Visit York. Gillian was awarded an MBE in the New Year's Honours List for 2011, recognising 15 years of service dedicated to the York tourism industry.

York is a tourism hub and this was a fantastic opportunity to:

• hear first-hand about the vision of the person at the helm of Visit York
• find out more about how tourism has contributed to York's modern diverse economy
• establish how York Professionals can support businesses within the tourism industry
• find out more about the Conference Ambassador Programme

We were also joined by Jo Pickering from the Conference Ambassador Programme. Jo gave a talk on the programme and highlighted the benefits to businesses of becoming an ambassador.
