This guided tasting experience takes you on a journey through the rich histories of chocolate and gin - two indulgences deeply connected to York’s heritage. Led by expert guides, you’ll explore how chocolate evolved from its ancient origins into a global favourite, alongside the rise of gin as a celebrated spirit. Along the way, you’ll discover the stories behind York’s famous confectionery legacy and learn how flavour pairings enhance both chocolate and gin in surprising ways.
On arrival guest will be welcomed with a glass of fizz and nibbles. This will be followed by a tour of the attraction and guided tasting of four premium gins from Hooting Owl Distillery, each paired with complementary chocolates. There will be a live chocolatier demonstration, including how gin-infused chocolates are made and you'll get the chance to have a go with a hands-on chocolate-making session where you’ll create your own chocolate mendiants treats to take home.
